What type of information does Robots Exclusion Checker collect?
Robots Exclusion Checker does not collect any user data, device identifier or personal information.
Robots Exclusion Checker requires a certain amount of permissions so you can enjoy its full potential. For security reasons we use the narrowest permissions available to still provide you the full functionality. These permissions are:
- storage – the ‘storage’ permission is required to store the settings and preferences
- tabs – the ‘tabs’ permission is required because the extenion needs to reload tabs, query active tab, and monitor URL changes
- webRequest – the ‘webRequest’ permission is required because the extension needs to keep track of robots-related response headers
- Read and change data on all websites – The extension requires this permission because it needs to read the robots.txt file, response headers and on-page meta tags on all websites.
